About TEDA

Terrebonne Economic Development Authority in Houma, La., provides a full range of site selection services to manufacturing, distribution and other enterprises expanding or locating in South Louisiana's bayou region. Terrebonne's affordable cost of living, motivated and skilled labor force, low crime rate, access to New Orleans and Lafayette by way of US Highway 90, rail, air, numerous recreation and leisure activities, and aggressive use of business investment incentives are just a few reasons so many companies have become and continue to be members of our portfolio of successful businesses.

Mission Statement

To enrich the region’s livability by advancing its economic vitality.

Purpose

The Terrebonne Economic Development Authority (TEDA) was created by The State Legislature and operates within a partnership among the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government, the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce, and the South Central Industrial Association (SCIA) to attract and retain jobs to the parish by implementing the economic development strategic plan created by the founding stakeholders. TEDA accomplishes its mission by strengthening Terrebonne’s economic base through business retention and expansion and through the attraction of new business and industry to the Parish.

Vision

In order to enhance our national ranking for quality of life through economic development, TEDA will engage its strategic partners in a collaborative effort using specialized staff and technology to become the leading economic development organization for marketing/recruitment and business retention/expansion in the State of Louisiana.
